We use Your Personal data to provide and improve the Service. By using the Service, You agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy has been created with the help of the Privacy Policy Generator.
Overview
This privacy policy explains how I handle the photographs you entrust to me. It outlines my commitments around photo ownership, storage, processing, and client rights.
Ownership and Client Rights
Photos taken during a session remain my intellectual property and may not be resold or redistributed by anyone else without written permission. Clients receive a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence for personal use only; they may display photos on personal websites and make prints for personal use, but may not enter images in contests, use them for commercial purposes, or distribute them in any way. Redistributing digital images is strictly prohibited, and clients are expressly not allowed to resell, re-license, or sub-license the files without my consent. Title and ownership of all images always remain with me as the photographer.
Storage and Security
To keep your photos safe, I store final images in Cloudflare R2, a managed object-storage service. R2 encrypts all objects (and their metadata) at rest using the industry-standard AES-256 algorithm. Encryption and decryption are automatic. Data transfers between clients and R2 are protected with TLS/SSL, ensuring encryption in transit. R2 provides eleven 9s (99.999999999 %) annual durability, meaning that if one million objects are stored, you could expect to lose one only once every 100,000 years. While R2 protects against infrastructure failures, clients should still maintain their own backups to guard against accidental deletion.
Processing and Editing
During editing, I process your images in Adobe Lightroom. Lightroom allows me to import photographs and optionally sync them to the Lightroom Cloud so that they can be accessed across devices. When photos are imported and synced to the cloud, they can be edited, saved, and exported from the Cloud tab. Once editing is completed, I remove the images from the Lightroom Cloud to free up space and archive them locally. Finished photos are archived to my local drives and backed up to Cloudflare R2; they are then deleted from Adobe’s cloud.
Data Retention and Deletion
Edited photos are retained on local storage and in my R2 bucket for the period specified in our contract to allow for reprints or additional orders. After that period, I may archive them offline or delete them upon request. Images temporarily stored on Adobe’s cloud during editing are removed as soon as editing is complete.
Consent and Contact
By booking a photography session with me, you acknowledge and consent to the practices described in this policy. If you have any questions or wish to request deletion of your photos from my backups, please contact me.
